Was it just another lie?

It's been a while but I needed to get this off my mind. It's Bumblebee and the situation can be explained in the story below.

STORY
"Was it just another lie?"
Optimus stopped and looked back, surprised to see Bumblebee. He turned around and walked up to the youngling.
"What do you mean, Bumblebee?"
Bumblebee's ears folded back against his head as he gave the older lion a hard glare.
"That you would always protect me, was that just another lie?"
Optimus's deep blue eyes widened and he took a step back. The youngling's sudden anger was a surprise, it was something that rarely happened.
"Whatever are you speaking about?"
Bumblebee growled deep down in his throat as tears welled up in his baby blue eyes. He had had enough, he couldn't take it any longer.
"For all these years you knew! You knew all along! And you always told me you didnt! YOU LIED TO ME!"
Optimus's eyes narrowed and his ears folded back.
"Lied about what?"
Bumblebee let out a furious snarl. "You knew my parents! You knew them, but you always said that you didn't! WHY!?"
Optimus's eyes widened yet again. How had the youngling found out?
The older lion's silence was enough answer for Bumblebee. So it had to be true, Optimus had lied to him. Through the years he had been told the same thing, a lie. It had always been a lie.
"Why didn't you tell me?"
Optimus's heart broke at the sound of the youngling's voice. He had never heard Bumblebee sound so small, so broken.
"Bumblebee...I didn't tell you because it was the only way to protect you."
What he recieved was a deadly glare.
"Protect me from what?! The one thing I wanted most in the world was to find out where I came from, who I am! But you kept that from me, only because you thought you were protecting me!" Bumblebee let out a broken sob. "You lied to me! I trusted you with everything and you lied to me!" He looked up at the elder lion. "What else have you lied about!? That you cared about me, that you would always be there for me?! That you would always protect me, was that just another lie?"
Optimus felt his heart shatter under the youngling's words. He wanted to reassure the younger lion that they weren't lies. But something in Bumblebee's broken eyes told him that it might already be too late.
